How much can you know about yourself if you've never written a screenplay?
I'm a father, husband, son and brother. Growing up in a rural army town in leafy Hampshire, England I discovered a passion for film early on in life, as there wasn't much to do. Religiously collecting VHS tapes and analysing movies became my vice!
It's probably fair to say that when you take a look at my education and the direction I was headed in that I should have been doing this a long time ago.
As it happens I fell down the rabbit hole of a graphic design career and later graduated to web design and development, so screenwriting took a back seat along with my other passions for acting and directing.
But my life is a movie. And I am the screenwriter. I can safely say I've had my "inciting incident" and the debate is over. I'm ready to break in to Act Two of my story. Let's get to the fun and games!

Experience
Writing
I've written several short film and stage-plays in my life but never a feature film. Yet! You can read or watch Shanks - a short film I made back in 2006. As part of my university course in Digital Film and Screen Arts I wrote a dissertation on the subject of South Korean cinema and auteur-ship called Violent Auteur: A Study of Park chan-Wook's Vengeance Trilogy.
Directing
I directed countless shorts and experimental films in my teenage years. I was also commissioned to direct a few music videos for bands and artists in my area, as well as a documentary for a local window company.
Acting
I've acted on stage several times since I was around 10 years old. I also used to "pop up" in a lot of the shorts I would shoot as a teenager! I have college level training in theatrical acting.
Other
I've worked on several music video shoots as an assistant and as a camera operator. I assisted at a secondary school, teaching videography and editing to children aged 11-16. I've also shot wedding videos and live music events. Otherwise, I've been busy furthering my career in graphic design, digital design and web development.
